I was on a business trip in Philadelphia and had a couple of free hours so I grabbed my camera and tripod and started walking. A few blocks from my hotel was Rittenhouse Square Park so I set up there for a little while—the Liberty Bell was towards the other side of downtown so I walked down there as well.

Lake Louise Ice Castle

Ice castle on a frozen Lake Louise – Alberta, Canada. The Victoria Glacier is in the background. This is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. As we approached the lake we saw this amazing castle that had been built from blocks of ice. They tore it down later that day so I’m glad I had a chance to capture it before it was gone.

The Wireless Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens (WVIL) is a concept camera from Artefact, a Seattle creative consultancy. It allows the camera body to act as a wireless viewfinder for the lens that could be handheld or mounted on a tripod. Genius.

He shot this with a Canon 5D Mark II—a DSLR, not a ‘video’ camera.
